New Construction questions
We bought a lot for our new shop and have no clue where to start. Can you walk us through it?
Sure. It starts with a conversation about what the building needs to do for your business. Then we walk the lot with you and put together a written scope and estimate before any work begins.
I've got drawings from my architect already. Can you build straight from those?
Yes. We review your plans, ask questions where something is unclear, and price the work from them. You get a written scope that lines up with the drawings.
Our building needs metal stud walls inside but a wood-framed shell. Is that something one crew can handle?
It is. We handle both timber framing and metal stud framing as part of our projects. Keeping both under one contractor makes it easier to coordinate the layout and the trades that follow.
I'm worried about juggling five different subs on my new building. Who do I actually call?
You call us. We coordinate foundation, framing, plumbing, electrical, drywall and finishes on the job. One point of contact means your questions go to one place.
Our budget is tight but we still want a solid building. Can you help us figure out what's realistic?
We can. Once we understand the building and the site, the written estimate shows where the money goes. That makes it easier to adjust finishes or scope before anything is built.
My tenant wants to move in the day the building's done. Can you build out the interior at the same time as the shell?
Often the interior can be planned right alongside the shell. We look at the tenant's needs early so walls, plumbing and electrical go where they belong the first time. Call (559) 257-2397 and we can talk through your situation.
Is a small commercial building even worth your time, or are you only after big projects?
Projects start around $5,000, so smaller buildings are welcome. What matters is a clear scope and a good fit. We're happy to talk it through with you.
We're not construction people. How will we know what's happening on our site each week?
You'll have a direct line to us during the build. We keep you updated on progress and flag decisions you need to make. Nothing big changes without talking to you first.
I need to know your license before I sign anything. Can I check it?
Of course. Ben-Rick Construction Inc. holds California CSLB License #1030203, Class B General Building Contractor. We're licensed and bonded, with workers' comp through State Compensation Insurance Fund.
Once the building's finished, who checks that everything's done right?
We do a final walkthrough with you. You point out anything that needs attention and we take care of it. Then you get the keys to a building that matches the scope you signed off on.
