Framing: Timber & Metal Stud questions
We want to knock out the wall between our kitchen and living room. Can you reframe it?
Wall changes are a normal part of our remodels. We check whether the wall carries load and plan the framing to suit. Plumbing or wiring in the wall gets rerouted as part of the job.
I'm adding a second bedroom and bath. Do you handle framing the addition too?
Timber framing for additions is part of what we build. We frame to your plans and tie the new structure into your existing house. The rest of the trades follow right behind.
Our office space needs new walls for private rooms. Wood or metal studs?
Commercial interiors usually get metal stud framing. We handle it as part of tenant improvements and build-outs. Your plans and the building's requirements decide the final call.
I'm building a custom home from scratch. Will the same people frame the whole thing?
Framing is handled as part of our custom home projects. We coordinate it with the foundation below and the plumbing and electrical that come next. You deal with one contractor the whole way.
My old house has some walls that aren't quite straight. Can new framing line up with them?
Older homes often have a little movement. We take that into account when new framing meets old. Drywall and trim afterward help everything read clean and even.
We'd like a bigger opening for a sliding door. Is that a framing job?
Yes. A wider opening needs a properly sized header and framing around it. We plan it with the door you pick, then finish the drywall and trim around it.
Part of our framing got damaged in a loss. Can you rebuild just that section?
We can. We remove the damaged framing, rebuild it, and restore the finishes over it. For insurance claims, we prepare an itemized scope and coordinate with your adjuster.
I'm not sure my new floor plan works structurally. Can you tell me before we commit?
We'll look at it during the site walk and flag anything that raises questions. Some changes may need an engineer's input. You'll know before any work starts.
Our restaurant build-out has soffits and odd angles all over the drawings. Can your crew frame that?
Soffits, bulkheads and angled walls come up often in build-outs. We frame them to your plans in metal or wood as the project calls for. Questions about the drawings get sorted out before we start.
