We love where we live, but the house feels too small now that the kids are older. Should we add on or start over?
It depends on the lot, the layout and what you need. An addition ties into the existing foundation, roofline and systems, while a custom home starts fresh. We walk the property with you and talk through both before you decide.
I've got a few repairs piling up around the house. Will you take those on?
All construction repairs are part of our work, from drywall and framing to plumbing and electrical fixes handled within the job. Projects start around $5,000, so grouping repairs together often makes sense.
Our kitchen and both bathrooms are original. Can you do all three at once?
Yes. Planning them together lets the plumbing and electrical be laid out once, and finishes can match from room to room. The written scope shows each room so you can see where the work goes.
I'm nervous about having a crew in my house. What should I expect day to day?
Expect demo and cleanup to be part of the job, and a clear picture of which rooms are affected. Your point of contact keeps you updated on what's next. Ask any question during the site walk, even the small ones.
Something damaged part of our home and the adjuster's coming out next week. Can you meet them?
Coordinating with the adjuster is part of our insurance repair work. We prepare an itemized scope and estimate so everyone works from the same list. Call (559) 257-2397 to set up a time.
We bought a lot and have house plans. Can you build it from the foundation up?
Custom homes are part of Ben-Rick's residential work, from foundation and concrete through framing, systems and finish work. Bring the plans and we'll walk the lot together.
Is it weird to ask a contractor about their license and insurance?
It's smart. Ben-Rick holds California CSLB License #1030203, Class B, and is licensed and bonded with workers' comp through State Compensation Insurance Fund. You can verify the license on the CSLB website.
Everything in my house needs work. How do I figure out which project should come first?
Start with a walk-through. We look at the whole house with you and talk about what affects daily life most. Then you can scope one project now and plan the others later.
If you fix one room, can I count on it blending in with the rest of the house?
Matching is a big part of repair work. We look at the existing texture, trim and flooring during the site walk and plan finishes to blend with the rest of the house.
Once the walls are open and I've got questions about my house, who do I actually call?
You have one point of contact at Ben-Rick from the first visit to the final walkthrough. The office is open Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
